What You Need To Know
Before You Book
Our wood-burning sauna is available to book separately from your camping stay and must be reserved in advance via our online booking system.
Each session lasts one hour, which includes:
- Sauna use
- Cold plunge
- Cooling-down time
- Changing time
To preserve the calm atmosphere, capacity is limited to six guests per session.
Guests must be 18 years or over to attend. When booking on behalf of others, the lead booker confirms that all members of the party agree to the Sauna Terms and Conditions and safety guidance.
Bookings may be amended up to 24 hours before your session. Late arrival or early departure does not extend your time, and cancellations are subject to our published policy.
Sauna use - including any optional cold exposure - is undertaken at your own risk. If you have any medical concerns, are pregnant, or have a pre-existing health condition, we strongly recommend seeking medical advice prior to booking.
Preparing for Your Session
To ensure comfort and safety, please:
- Bring a towel to sit on inside the sauna
- Wear appropriate swimwear at all times (nudity is not permitted)
- Remove all jewellery before entering
- Wash your feet before entering the sauna
- Avoid using oils, lotions, or perfumes inside
- Recommended sauna intervals are 5–15 minutes at a time, with a maximum of 30 minutes
before cooling down and rehydrating. - Water may be poured gently onto the sauna stones using only the water provided.
Arriving and Settling In
Your sauna experience has been designed to feel simple, calm, and unforced.
The sauna sits within open countryside, overlooking green fields and expansive skies. From inside, you remain connected to the landscape — a quiet reminder to slow down.
The wood-fired stove produces a gentle, even heat that encourages the body to soften gradually rather than abruptly.
This is not a challenge or endurance exercise. It is a shared, respectful space.
How Your Session Flows
There is no prescribed method, but many guests follow a natural rhythm:
1. Enter the warmth and settle.
2. Step outside into fresh air when ready.
3. Cool gradually, if you choose.
4. Rest and rehydrate before returning.
Listen to your body. If you experience dizziness, discomfort, or distress, cease use immediately and inform a member of staff.
Wet areas may be slippery, and care should be taken at all times when moving between heated and cool spaces.
Facilities and After Your Sauna
The sauna includes a private changing room. Guests are also welcome to use our award-winning campsite facilities for showering and changing, including the Ladies Only Pamper Cabin, Meadow Blossom.
After your session, many guests continue their evening in the BBQ hut, gathering around the fire and sharing food or conversation. As dusk settles and the sauna lights glow softly against the countryside, the space becomes particularly peaceful.
A Quiet Intention
The sauna at Dulas Meadow is part of a wider wellbeing experience - one that values simplicity, respect, and personal responsibility.
It is not about spectacle or intensity.
It is about warmth, views, shared stillness, and giving yourself permission to pause.
